Did you know that at an event like the Playades, 80% of the carbon impact is due to transport?
All the venues for the Playades 2024 have been chosen within a limited area to make travelling easier: the « village » on the Wacken campus, the Parc des Expositions 500m away for the opening and closing evenings, the main sports venues 1km away and most hotels within a radius of 3km.
For all sports taking place outside Strasbourg, there are links from Wacken.
In line with our Eco-Manifestations Alsace label, the organising team is doing everything it can to make the city easier for you: short, healthy journeys by public transport (CTS), on foot or by bike! For example:
- A CTS pass is systematically made available to all participants from outside the Bas-Rhin.
- CTS passes are provided on request to participants from the Bas-Rhin region
- A city bike has been offered to everyone when the geographical location of their hotel or sport justifies it.
Please note: for sportspeople who use bulky equipment (cycling and golf), a locker is available on the Wacken campus, so you don’t have to carry your equipment morning and night! Your equipment can also be collected on arrival at Strasbourg station.
And for those coming by car…
As parking spaces around the Wacken Campus are limited, and so as not to prevent our colleagues who are working from parking during this period, private car parks will be reserved for participants who are carpooling. Information on this subject will be provided to everyone on 29 April 2024.
Parking inside the Wacken campus (via the gatehouse) is forbidden to Playades participants: the few remaining spaces must be left free for our colleagues who are working! Thank you for respecting this rule.
If you have already registered as a carpooler and are staying at a hotel, you can leave your vehicle in the CIC Est long-term car park on Wednesday 08/05 between 12 noon and 5.30 pm and leave it there for the duration of the event. Please note that all exits are final.
In all other cases, there are public car parks nearby, but you will have to pay for them yourself.
As a reminder, the Campus address is 4, rue Raiffeisen, Strasbourg.
